ANDPC Logo

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a training device:

  • initiated by the Hospital, Patients, Health and Territories (HPST) law in 2009 and adapted by the Modernization of the Health System law in 2016;

  • effective since January 1, 2013;

  • dedicated to healthcare professionals in France * (within the meaning of the Public Health Code, chapter IV).

The CPD is a regulated training system

Each healthcare professional must follow a CPD course to fulfill their three-year obligation.

CPD is an active process throughout professional practice

It allows:

  • the healthcare professional to be an actor in their training;

  • to promote inter-professional cooperation and decompartmentalization between the different modes of exercise (city, hospital).

CPD, for improving the quality and safety of care

The objectives of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) are:

  • assessment and improvement of professional and risk management practices;

  • maintaining and updating knowledge and skills;

  • taking into account public health priorities (example: PAERPA).

The CPD offer for healthcare professionals

To meet their three-year obligation, the National CPD Agency makes available to health professionals * the CPD offer made up of CPD actions and programs:

  • Cognitive action (concerning the deepening of knowledge);

  • Analysis of professional practices (allowing reflection on the process and characteristics of the professional's actual professional practice);

  • Risk management (aiming to identify, assess and prioritize risks relating to the activities of a business or an organization).

CPD packages

The National Agency for Continuous Professional Development (DPC) contributes to the support of the CPD for liberal health professionals and employees working in approved health centers (dental surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, speech therapists, orthoptists, chiropodists, pharmacists and midwives).

Each support package includes:

  • the Agency's participation in the payment of the CPD body dispensing the CPD action followed;

  • compensation for the healthcare professional for his participation in all of his CPD action.

All the latest CPD news

From July 1, healthcare professionals must have an account on the site agencedpc.fr to register for a CPD action.

From July 1, all professionals who have not migrated their old account created on mondpc.fr, will no longer be able to register for a CPD action via the Agency or be financed until they have taken the necessary steps to activate their new account on the site;https://www.agencedpc.fr

In addition to the fact that this new account allows them to have access to the traceability document necessary to report their obligation to their control body, it is backed by the ordinal tables or data from the ADELI file managed by the ARS and allows the Agency to ensure their identity, their exercise data and their eligibility for financing prior to registration.

Please remind professionals of this information who will contact you regarding registration.
