This training will make it possible to acquire or improve the knowledge and skills of practitioners in the care of athletes' knees.

Carry out a clinical medical assessment of the athlete's knee.

Learn manual techniques to treat mechanical dysfunctions of the knee.

Optimization of the practitioner's place in multidisciplinary care.

This training is intended for therapists who have to take care of patients with musculoskeletal functional pain, at the acute or chronic stage, of the knee joint.

It is part of the deepening of knowledge of diagnostic practices, therapeutic management and improvement of the skills of health practitioners.

The updating of knowledge on the most recent scientific advances, both in the field of neuroscience and biomechanics, demonstrates the predominant role of the knee in postural and motor control.

Any musculoskeletal dysfunction can then lead to sensorimotor disorders, thus disrupting the posture and the musculoskeletal system of the patient.

Manual therapy requires a diagnostic, reflective and technical approach to adapt its technique in correlation with the therapeutic project.

During this training, the trainee will learn to perform a clinical medical assessment and dysfunctions of the various knee joints.

He will understand manual techniques to treat knee dysfunctions in order to allow adjunct treatments to be more efficient.

He will be introduced to the concepts of evaluating the metrics of a clinical test: sensitivity, specificity, likelihood ratios and Kappa index.

He will discuss the use of different Taping techniques adapted to the knee.

Ottawa's decision-making rules as well as the PEACE & Love protocol will be detailed for the management of the knee.

He will be able to self-assess the relevance of his treatments, his adaptation, the follow-up and / or the reorientation of the patient, within the framework of multidisciplinary care.

Throughout the training, the necessary times to recall the neurophysiopathological factors of the knee will alternate with long periods of practice.

The repetition of tests, clinical maneuvers, and corrective techniques will allow immediate integration into practice in the office.

educational goals

  1. Master the palpatory location of the various anatomical elements of the knee.

  2. Know the tests, the factors of gravity, as well as the recommendations, in the management of a traumatic knee.

  3. To enrich the clinical examination of the knee, by the knowledge of the tests of specific dysfunctions.

  4. Understand the most commonly used manual therapy techniques.
